MLB Player Props
Gunnar Henderson to Record 2+ Total Bases (-130)
Let's start off strong today with Gunnar Henderson. I like him to Record 2+ Total Bases (-130) tonight against the Chicago White Sox.
Henderson has been terrific at the plate this season, logging 16 home runs, 4 triples, and 4 doubles -- the types of hits we will look for tonight from him. Few hitters in the league drive the ball as consistently well as Henderson does, which is shown by his top tier 45.7% hard-hit rate. The .405 wOBA and .323 ISO only help his case tonight as he tries to create an impactful moment or two against White Sox starter Chris Flexen.
As a team, the Baltimore Orioles have a solid 5.14 implied total against the White Sox tonight, per numberFire's heat map.
Flexen is a good pitching matchup for offense as his 44.6% flyball rate alone does the trick for the opposition. Beyond that is a 4.54 SIERA, 4.67 FIP, and 1.35 WHIP. Those are inviting numbers for Henderson and company to work with in this game.
In his last start, Flexen allowed seven runs on eight hits -- two of which were home runs. This appears to be the right time to bet against him; take Henderson to deliver tonight.
Alec Bohm to Record 3+ Total Bases (+135)
Alec Bohm has continued to hit the cover off the ball this season. Let's keep it going tonight at Coors Field.
When Coors is in play, it's hard to stay away -- especially when it's a team like the Philadelphia Phillies making their way there. Tonight gets even better for the Phillies when you see that the Colorado Rockies are rolling out Ty Blach for this game.
Blach will have his hands full tonight after having not had a great start to the season. In his last start, he allowed six runs in just three innings of work. Overall, Blach has a 4.71 SIERA and 5.14 ERA, so the Phillies should be slugging at the plate tonight against the lefty.
It's not a surprise that the Phils have the best implied total of the evening at a stunning 6.06 runs, per numberFire's heat map.
Bohm is the perfect hitter to take for tonight's game, which is why I'm confident in his ability to Record 3+ Total Bases (+135).
Throughout his career, Bohm has dominated at the plate against lefties. This year has been much of the same. He's hitting .323 against southpaws with a .898 OPS and .392 wOBA. While he's got just 62 at-bats against lefties this season, Bohm has managed to record eight extra-base hits in the limited sample.
It all tracks to be a big night for Bohm in the projected cleanup spot.
Jose Ramirez to Record an RBI (+135)
The final MLB prop bet to consider today is Jose Ramirez to Record an RBI (+135).
Ramirez and the surprising Cleveland Guardians have been the story of baseball thus far -- and for good reason. The Guardians are 33-17 with Ramirez's bat once again being a big reason for the success offensively. J-Ram comfortably sits in the three-spot of the lineup night in and night out, and through his first 49 games this season, Ramirez has already knocked in 45 runs. He ranks third in the majors in that respect. Why not bank on him doing the same tonight against the Los Angeles Angelsand their starting pitcher, Patrick Sandoval?
Sandoval is another lefty to pick on Friday. He has had a decent enough season -- posting a 3.87 SIERA -- but his 4.59 ERA remains gettable. Sandoval also allows a lot of hits, having coughed up 55 in just 51 innings.
The reason to like this matchup so much for Ramirez is that he destroys lefties compared to righties. This season, Ramirez is hitting .308 with a .370 wOBA and .889 OPS against them. Can you ask for much more than that -- especially from a guy who has drove in runs at will this season?
Watch J-Ram do what he does on tonight's slate.
