3 FanDuel MLB DFS Value Plays for Friday 6/7/24

Finding low-salary production is one way to get a leg up on the competition in MLB DFS.

Here are some value plays to target on FanDuel for today's main slate.

MLB DFS Value Plays

Logan Allen, P, Guardians ($6,500)

Sending us into the weekend, left-handed pitcher Logan Allen and the Cleveland Guardians are in South Florida to play the Miami Marlins. Considering Miami's offensive struggles in 2024, I love this matchup for Cleveland. Presently, the Fish are sporting a .589 team OPS against southpaw pitchers.

Our DFS projections are also high on Allen at LoanDepot Park tonight. The model shows an estimated 29.5 FanDuel points for Cleveland's lefty. Factoring in his modest $6,500 salary, Allen is left with a 4.53 value score, which is the highest of any player on Friday's slate.

FanDuel's heat maps also has the Marlins' lineup in a not-so-favorable spot; Miami is yielding 3.68 implied runs, which is a bottom-six figure for Friday's slate.

Allen has made noticeable improvements in his sophomore MLB campaign. His skill-interactive ERA (SIERA) is down from last year at 4.24. Other than stinker at Coors Field, Allen's been sharp as of late. Excluding his outing in Colorado, he's produced an average of 40.33 FanDuel points over his past three outings. Given his salary, Allen is worth rostering consideration if on a budget.

Thairo Estrada, 2B, Giants ($3,000)

The San Francisco Giants will head out to the Lone Star State for an interleague clash with the defending champion Texas Rangers. To up the ante just a bit, the Giants will be facing their old, beloved skipper: Bruce Bochy.

The probable pitchers in Arlington on Friday are Logan Webb and Michael Lorenzen. With that in mind, I like San Francisco second baseman Thairo Estrada to have a productive night in Arlington.

To this point in 2024, Estrada has built a 35.1% Statcast hard-contact rate, which is solid for any middle infielder. From there, he has put together quality at-bats throughout his career when facing Lorenzen. Head-to-head, Estrada has a 1.167 OPS against Lorenzen over half a dozen plate appearances.

FanDuel's DFS model expects 12.3 FanDuel points from Estrada on Friday. That ranks within the top-five options at second base. He's also salaried frugally at $3,000. Considering Globe Life Field has the sixth-highest Park Factor score (102) in baseball, I am willing to roll the dice with Estrada.

Cal Raleigh, C, Mariners ($2,800)

Speaking of hitter-friendly ballparks, the Seattle Mariners are out at Kauffman Stadium (107 Park factor score) this weekend to face the Kansas City Royals. With that, backstop Cal Raleigh has caught my attention tonight.

Raleigh is scheduled to take on Kansas City southpaw Daniel Lynch (4.44 SIERA). For Raleigh (a switch hitter), that could play out advantageously. The Seattle catcher has displayed more success versus left-handed pitching in 2024, holding a .718 OPS compared to .676 against RHP.

The fact that Raleigh can be had for $2,800 on Friday feels like exceptional value. He has posted a booming 54.5% Statcast hard-hit clip on the year. Additionally, warm temperatures are forecasted today in KCMO, so batted balls should have expansive carry.

Back on FanDuel's heat maps, the M's are boasting the second-highest implied total (4.26) for tonight's slate. From there, Raleigh is estimated to produce 11.9 FanDuel points. That projection lands Raleigh third among all catchers -- of which Raleigh is salaried most favorably.
