NFL Betting: Who Will Have the Most Receiving Yards in the Conference Championship Round?

The wait is nearly over for the Conference Championship Round to begin. There are two highly-anticipated matchups on deck for Sunday to decide who will be playing in this year's Super Bowl.
To kick things off, the Kansas City Chiefs will face the Baltimore Ravens in a showdown between two MVP quarterbacks -- Patrick Mahomes and Lamar Jackson. Upon the conclusion of that game, the Detroit Lions will look to upset the San Francisco 49ers in the NFC title bout.
Just to spice things up a bit, it can be fun to peruse through the NFL odds on FanDuel Sportsbook to look at the odds for which player will lead Championship Sunday in receiving yards. There are a handful of talented pass catchers playing this weekend, so who will record the most receiving yards of the bunch?
Here is a list of the top-10 odds with a breakdown of the leading candidates.
NFL Championship Sunday Betting
Brandon Aiyuk (+230)
In an offense that is loaded with weapons, Brandon Aiyuk has emerged as a true No. 1 receiver for the 49ers in recent years. The well-rounded wideout is registering the 8th-most receiving yards (1,374) and the 11th-most receiving yards per game (80.8) despite having to compete with targets alongside Deebo Samuel, George Kittle, and Christian McCaffrey.
With the Lions being a pass-funneling defensive unit, the 49ers are likely going to lean on Brock Purdy and their aerial attack on Sunday. Detroit's defense is eighth in schedule-adjusted run defense and 30th in schedule-adjusted pass defense, via numberFire's metrics.
Samuel's teammates expect him to suit up against the Lions, but will he be limited after suffering a shoulder injury in last week's game? If Samuel is inactive, then there is a clear pathway for Aiyuk to dominate targets at the receiver position for the 49ers.
Aiyuk leads the 49ers in target share (23.5%), air yards share (38.7%), average depth of target (13.9), and yards per route run (3.03), via NextGenStats. Meanwhile, the Lions are allowing the most receiving yards (3,606), the second-most yards per route run (1.90), and the third-highest target rate (21.5%) to wide receivers.
Amon-Ra St. Brown (+250)
Not many wide receivers receive the consistent volume that Amon-Ra St. Brown receives in Detroit's passing attack. St. Brown has produced back-to-back 1,000-yard seasons for the Lions, finishing with a career-high 1,515 receiving yards during the regular season.
After catching 8 of his 14 targets for 77 yards and a score in the Divisional Round, St. Brown is averaging the 5th-most receiving yards per game (94.6) in the NFL. With the third-most receptions per game (7.4) and the fourth-most targets per game (10.3), the versatile wideout for the Lions is always a threat to lead all receivers in yards -- let alone on a two-game slate.
The Lions enter Sunday's NFC title matchup as 7.5-point road underdogs, which could put Jared Goff in a spot to put the ball in the air often to maintain pace with the 49ers. Considering that St. Brown has achieved 95-plus receiving yards and/or one touchdown in 17 of his 18 games this season, he'll be busy again versus the 49ers.
While San Francisco's defense is a formidable unit, it is permitting the sixth-most receptions (242) and the sixth-highest catch rate over expected (3.9%) to wide receivers. Betting on St. Brown is having confidence that the Lions are aggressive in attacking the 49ers through the air and the talented receiver's invaluable consistency at the position.
George Kittle (+600)
There are a few tight ends who crack the top-10 odds to have the most receiving yards on Championship Sunday. The tight end with the best matchup of the bunch is undoubtedly George Kittle.
During last week's victory over the Green Bay Packers, Kittle led the 49ers in receiving yards (81) and air yards (74.8) in a game where Purdy had a so-so outing at home. The hope is that San Francisco's passing attack rises to the occasion and takes advantage of Detroit's below-average pass defense.
Kittle has registered 116-plus receiving yards in three games this season, so he's shown an ability to explode in an offense that induces headaches on opposing defenses. There's a chance Samuel is either limited or inactive for the 49ers, which could force Kittle into a more-prominent role in the passing game.
The Lions could center their attention around playing bracket coverage on Aiyuk and force the other pass catchers on the 49ers to beat them. That could allow Kittle to win over the middle of the field and create explosive plays against a Detroit defense that is allowing the sixth-most receiving yards (1,033) and the sixth-highest average depth of target (7.2) to tight ends.
