Looks to have really entered the top echelon this season and if he brings that from with him he can go close. MERLIN (7) looks to be building nicely, progressing off his resuming third in the Founders Cup for second in the City of Auckland FFA. Loves it here with six wins and three placings from nine starts and has won four of six third-up attempts so can peak. WE WALK BY FAITH (2) showed improvement to place when second-up in the City of Auckland. The low draw should see this pan out well for him. If REPUBLICAN PARTY (5) can find his best he is well up to winning a race like this. Must respect.
