BERTRAND (7) is the one to beat. Looked good in his jumpouts before placing second at Stawell on debut behind Russian Choice. He's a promising type in good hands with plenty of improvement to come. The step up to a mile shouldn't be a bother. BORN SURVIVOR (1) improved again last start beaten just half a length over 1m at Cranbourne. Suitably placed and just has to hold that level of form to go one better. ON THE BRINK (10) hasn't pulled a punch in two runs but can improve sharply with the blinkers going on. Can hopefully take closer order this time. DIG FOR VICTORY (8) is another likely improver.
