Has the winkers applied for the first time and she rates to go close. REGAL ASCEND (12) returned from a spell beaten 3.5 lengths over 6f at Moe. Settled back and can sit closer today. Also has the winkers on for the first time and John Allen is a key jockey engagement replacing the 4lbs apprentice. GLOWSHIFT (5) debuts for the Laurie yard and has been well educated. Draws inside and has the blinkers on. A bold run is likely in a winnable race. KING KALAKAUA (6) debuts for the Maher yard with the blinkers on.
