Competitive. HAIIRO (1) positions forward and first-up proved too strong getting home by 1.3 lengths over 1m at Kilmore. He'd come off an easy Maiden win over 1 ¼m at Warrnambool and is building a tidy record. Steps up quickly to the middle distance but should be fit enough to manage. WHAT A CROSS (4) didn't have the best of it at Pakenham before finding one better here over this distance. May sit closer today and is ready to win. MY UNCLE DID IT (9) raced a $2.9 favourite in the same contest and was run over late. The Wilde yard strikes at 21% at this track and the consistent mare deserves another chance. Stablemate COUSINS DAY (5) was an easy 56 winner this track/trip and then again raced on-pace beaten 2.8L in fourth over 1 7/16m at Warrnambool. Has ability and she also has claims. DIRTY ROBBER (6) brings a 4.5L Maiden win from Horsham over 1 5/16m stepping up from a mile. Peaks and can't be ruled out.
