STAR BLING (3) has a good record here but plagued by wide gates of late. Closed strongly for a narrow third over 1m here in the soft (7) going. Key jockey change and expected to go close. TIMELESS GRACE (8) was in the money two starts back at Wagga, then drifted back and failed to close off when sixth over 1m at Canberra. Further improved with that run under the belt and expecting more today. STAR EMPIRE (4) went under narrowly two-back at Wagga, then struggled in the soft (7) going with a fading sixth over 7f at this track. Proven at the trip and no shock to see him push forward from the awkward barrier. FIRE AND GEMSTONE (2) holding his form over this distance and doesn't have to improve much to win this. Sent to the front with a gritty second over 1m at this track. One of the main hopes with Brookes' claim again.
