MELTON MAGNATE (2) ran second last start at Motukarara Raceway over 1 ¼m, beaten 2.5 metres. Has the benefit of a good draw. Has placed in both of his two previous runs here and has the talent to take care of this field. HERE COMES MARTY (7) was successful last time out by 8 metres in a far better performance at Rangiora over 1 ¼m. Has to contend with a very wide draw. Tackles a similar assignment and he can make it consecutive wins. HA'PENNY (3) is right in contention after finishing in the placings for the second time in a row last start, beaten 23 metres into third at Richmond Park. Scored at this meeting last year and no reason why she cannot take this out. HEY TONIGHT (10) is worth plenty of thought off a last-start win by 5 metres at Phar Lap Raceway over 1 ?m when sent out as the favourite. Blair Orange is once again in the cart.
