ALTERNATE (5) looks the one to beat if repeats the latest effort in tougher grade at Caulfield when not far from the winner. This far easier and will be prominent while many of the main chances are poorly drawn. Expected to go close. YAM (1) is also nearing a win and wasn't far away last time when placed in a similar race. One of the main hopes. THREE MUSKETEERS (4) was ridden quietly from a good draw last start before closing nicely to get up for fourth over 6f at Kyneton. Solid top-three prospects. BRITISH POET (2) has been a few lengths away last couple. No easier here and will need some luck from the draw but best figures stack up.
