Verdict

MOXIE (1) has been an impressive winner of her last couple of starts at this level and is now at the top of the handicap. She has more to offer, and the hat-trick beckons. SINHAMAN (3) is heading the right way with his form, and tried hard when finishing runner-up by just over a length at Trentham nearly 3 weeks ago. The drop back from 1 5/16m to 7 ½f won't be an issue, and he can run his usual honest race here. FIRST DANCE (4) was beaten by a short head when finishing second behind the top pick last time out. She is better off at the weights this time and can turn the tables. BIG WAVE (2) is a tough gelding who likes to put himself in the race early on. He has to overcome a wide gate, but with some luck, he can figure in the top 3 at a decent each-way price. RISE COMPANIONS (7) is racing his way through the grades, and is eyeing up a hat-trick after scoring here in BM65 company nearly 4 weeks ago. Stick with him, especially with 7lbs less to carry.

Moxie silk

Chasing a hat-trick. At the latest run favourite, ran on from midfield and won by a head at Pukekohe December 6 over 7f on a soft track defeating First Dance with 125lbs at $3. The start before that favourite, won by 1.5 len at Pukekohe November 22 over 7f on a rain affected track defeating Sumosaurus carrying 120lbs at $8.20. In great form and should be right in the thick of things again.
