THE POOL BOY (6) resumed at Eagle Farm and rode the speed and held on well to finish 1.5Lm adrift over 5f. He'd won an Open two at Casino prior on debut. This is a more suitable contest and with the extra fitness he can get the job done. KINGDOM UNDERSIEGE (2) returns from a spell for the sharp Matt Dunn yard and two back led and blitzed the Ballina Maidens by 4.7L fresh. Has been off the scene for a long while but the trials have been good and Mallyon sticks from the latest. Has the ability and a bold run is likely. DAZZLING PEACE (10) didn't have the best of it at Grafton, but had won his Maiden on debut there prior. Needs to lift to beat the above pair, but he will give a sight. THIEM (7) resumes and will need this. Last preparation, he was well off his Victorian best.

Claiming Race

A race in which horses are entered for a certain price, or claiming tag, which is also their sales price. An owner can claim any horse entered for the tag before the race begins, and owns them as soon as the gates open.

Bobble/Stumble

A slip or a duck from a horse trying to leave the starting gates, often caused by the surface giving way under the feet. This can range from a mild misstep to a stumble down to their knees.

Tack

The equipment the horse wears, including saddle and bridle. A jockey typically has their own racing saddle, placed on each horse they ride just before the race.
