Will Levis' Draft Odds Take Shocking Turn After Rumors Emerge on Tuesday Morning

Updated:

The 2023 NFL Draft is quickly approaching, with Round 1 kicking off Thursday night, April 27. The days leading up to the draft are filled with countless rumors, smokescreens and reports, some completely contradicting each other.

However, one source of a good indication of where a player is expected to be drafted has been the Sportsbooks. And on Tuesday morning, Kentucky quarterback Will Levis' odds to be the first overall pick by the Carolina Panthers have skyrocketed.

Will Levis 2023 NFL Draft Odds: First Overall Pick

Levis now sits at +700 to be the first overall pick on FanDuel Sportsbook. Alabama QB Bryce Young remains the favorite to be selected first, but he is now listed at -1350, while just yesterday he was at -2000.

A shift this profound and this late in the draft shouldn't be viewed as meaningless. There is at least some smoke here, and where there is smoke there's usually fire, especially when it comes to sportsbooks. So while Young may very well still may end up as the top selection, Levis is certainly a realistic possibility now.

Will Levis Reddit Draft Rumors

There is one unverified report from a Reddit user that could be driving some of this hysteria late in the game. This user claimed Levis is going around telling family and friends that the Panthers have told him they will draft him at No. 1 overall.

This seemed to have bettors rushing to sportsbooks, or at the very least caught the attention of someone in the industry. That or the sportsbooks themselves also have some additional inside intel causing this seismic and sudden shift.

Either way, this isn't something that should be ignored and Panthers fans should fully prepare themselves for the possibility of hearing Roger Goodell say on Thursday night, "With the first pick in the 2023 NFL Draft, the Carolina Panthers select Will Levis, Quarterback, Kentucky."
