Will Draymond Green Be Suspended for Warriors-Kings Game 3?

Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green was once again at the center of an on-court incident Tuesday night. Green stopped on Sacramento Kings big man Domantas Sabonis midway through the fourth quarter, which led to a Flagrant 2 call and automatic ejection.

Now fans on both sides are wondering if additional punishment is coming for the outspoken former Defensive Player of the Year. Here's the latest on the situation.

Will Draymond Green Be Suspended for Game 3?

Based on the NBA's points system for flagrant fouls, Green will not receive an automatic suspension for his Flagrant 2 violation. However, that doesn't rule out Commissioner Adam Silver and the league office handing down a suspension upon further review of the play in question.

Players are allowed to record three points from flagrant fouls every postseason before an automatic suspension is triggered. Since Green's violation was a Flagrant 2, he is already at 2 points. Another Flagrant 2 would lead to an ejection from that contest and a one-game suspension. A Flagrant 1 would put Green at the limit for points, and the next flagrant foul of any kind then results in a one-game absence.

It's worth noting that Green has been suspended in the playoffs before for flagrant points accumulation. During the 2016 NBA Finals, the forward was assessed a Flagrant 1 for his incident with LeBron James. Since Green was already at 3 flagrant points before that violation, he was automatically suspended for Game 5.

The Warriors and Kings are set to face off again on Thursday, so we'll await possible word from the league on Green's status.
