Who is the Youngest Player to Win Super Bowl MVP?

Updated:

Super Bowl LVI is nearly here and a lot of fans are wondering if it'll be the Cincinnati Bengals or Los Angeles Rams who take home the Vince Lombardi Trophy. At the same time, others are looking forward to which player will receive Super Bowl MVP honors.

This year's Super Bowl is filled with some amazing who are more than worthy of being named Super Bowl MVP. In fact, many of these players are just starting their NFL careers, such as Bengals rookie wideout Ja'Marr Chase.

If Chase does win the award, would he be the youngest to do so? The answer lies below.

Youngest Super Bowl MVP

The youngest Super Bowl MVP in history is none other than 1985 NFL MVP Marcus Allen. The former running back won the award at Super Bowl XVIII at the age of 23 years, nine months and 18 days old.

Former Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Lynn Swann originally held the record until Allen broke it. Swann set the record at Super Bowl X, however, he was 23 years, 10 months and 12 days old, so Allen really only beat him by a month or so.

At the other end of the spectrum, seven-time champion Tom Brady is the oldest player in Super Bowl history to earn MVP honors. He set that record at Super Bowl LV at the age of 43 years, six months and five days old.

If Cincinnati wins Super Bowl LVI and Chase sees MVP honors, he'd set the new record at 21 years, 11 months and 13 days. He already has two 100-yard performances this postseason and will be targeted heavily if the Bengals hope to upset the hometown Rams.

If that's the case and Chase is named Super Bowl MVP at such a young age, it's hard to imagine anyone breaking that record any time soon.
