Updated:

Kentucky Derby Week is finally here once again, and horse racing fans are full of anticipation for this year's event. The 149th Run for the Roses is sure to feature plenty of excitement as 20 of the world's best horses aim to capture the crown.

Before the event begins, though, many are curious about the broadcast for this year's race. With that in mind, here's everything you need to know about TV coverage of the 2023 Kentucky Derby.

Who is Announcing the Kentucky Derby 2023?

The Kentucky Derby will air on NBC once again in 2023. Mike Tirico returns to serve as studio host for the seventh straight year, while Larry Collmus will call the race. They'll be joined by a team of NBC correspondents to cover the Derby, as well as the other racing action on Friday and Saturday.

Tirico is an accomplished sportscaster who first rose to fame as a SportsCenter anchor in the early 1990s. The New York native spent 25 years at ESPN before landing at NBC, where he's handled hosting duties for numerous big events, including the World Cup, Olympics and Sunday Night Football.

Collmus, meanwhile, succeeded Tom Durkin as NBC's voice of the Kentucky Derby race after the 2010 event. As the announcer for all of the network's horse coverage, Collmus has had the chance to call a few Triple Crown wins during his time with NBC. The 56-year-old also previously served as voice of the New York Racing Association.
