Who Has the First Pick in the 2022 NBA Draft? Full Order and Draft Odds on FanDuel Sportsbook

Updated:

Now that the Golden State Warriors officially celebrated their championship with a parade, all eyes have turned attention to the upcoming 2022 NBA Draft. Anticipation is building for the draft, which kicks off on Thursday, June 23 at 8 p.m. ET.

Teams around the league are clamoring to see what the future holds, but perhaps none more than the team selecting first overall. This talented draft class displays a trio of players who could easily see their names called first in Auburn's Jabari Smith, Gonzaga's Chet Holmgren or Duke's Paolo Banchero.

Who Owns First Pick in 2022 NBA Draft?

The Orlando Magic will select first at the 2022 NBA Draft. Orlando struggled to put a consistent product on the floor this past season, winning just 22 games. Only two starters, Franz Wagner and Cole Anthony, averaged more than 15.0 points per game. This led to Orland's No. 29 ranking in offensive rating.

Orlando did finish with a better record than one other NBA franchise, the Houston Rockets at 20-62, but secured the No. 1 overall pick thanks to the draft lottery results.

NBA Draft Lottery Results

The NBA Draft Lottery specifies the official order for the first 14 picks, or teams that didn't make the playoffs. Those teams are assigned odds (or numerical ping pong balls) based on their regular season performances with the worst three teams owning the best odds at being the first ping pong ball selected.

Below are the official results of the 2022 NBA Draft Lottery, which took place back on Tuesday, May 17.
