After a thrilling two weeks of true March Madness, the stage is set for the Final Four and conclusion of the best tournament in sports. Four teams enter the weekend with one goal in mind: winning two games to be crowned the 2022 college basketball national champion.

This year's Final Four is chock full of blue-blood college basketball programs, notably the Duke Blue Devils in Coach K's final run. The No. 2 seed Duke will kick off their weekend with a classic rivalry matchup against No. 8 North Carolina Tar Heels.

Nevertheless, how long has it been since Duke won The Big Dance?

When Was Duke's Last National Championship?

Duke's last National Championship occurred in 2015. This was the fifth national title in program history.

Entering the 2015 NCAA Tournament as a No. 1 seed, Duke went on to top No. 7 Michigan State in the semifinals, 81-61. This set up a thrilling matchup with No. 1 Wisconsin.

Duke came out on top in the 2015 National Title game by a score of 68-83. Guard Tyus Jones led the way with 23 points and was named the tournament's Most Outstanding Player.

Duke National Championship History

Duke has won five national championships throughout its illustrious history. In addition to those five championship runs, Duke has also been the runner-up six times: 1964, 1978, 1986, 1990, 1994 and 1999.

Duke has also reached the Final Four 17 times in 1963, 1964, 1966, 1978, 1986, 1988, 1989, 1990, 1991, 1992, 1994, 1999, 2001, 2004, 2010, 2015 and 2022.

Duke Next Game

FanDuel Sportsbook is projecting Duke to at least earn a spot in the National Championship. The Blue Devils are 4-point favorites over the Tar Heels, with that game scheduled to tip at 8:49 p.m. ET. on TBS.

A win would mean that Duke's next game would be the National Championship against the winner of Villanova vs Kansas, which would be played on Monday, April 4
