Week 7 Waiver Wire Pickups 2022: Fantasy Football Players You Need to Add

Updated:

Week 6 of the NFL season featured a few noteworthy performances across fantasy football. Heading into Week 7, there's handful of widely available players that should now be on managers' radars, especially with bye weeks and injuries in full swing.

If you need help sorting through the events of the weekend, The Duel has you covered. Here are the top waiver wire pickups heading into Week 7 of the 2022 season.

Week 7 Waiver Wire Pickups

Note: Only players rostered in fewer than 50% of Yahoo! fantasy football leagues are eligible for this list.

1. Wan'Dale Robinson (8% Rostered)

Competition should be fierce over Wan'Dale Robinson this week. The rookie wide receiver made an immediate impact in his return from injury, hauling in 3 receptions for 37 yards and a touchdown. There's a clear opportunity in front of Robinson after tying for the second-highest targets (4) on the team in Week 6. He should figure to be a big part of the New York Giants' depleted passing attack as long as he stays healthy. If you've missed out on the other productive first-year wideouts to this point, Robinson is a great depth add with bye weeks upon us.

2. Alec Pierce (38% Rostered)

Speaking of rookie WRs, Alec Pierce should be scooped up in any leagues he's still available. He commanded his second-highest targets (7) of the season in Week 6, which he converted into 3 receptions for 49 yards. The highlight of his afternoon was a 32-yard touchdown grab that turned out to be the game-winner for Indianapolis. He's averaging an eye-catching 6.8 targets, 4.5 receptions and 67.8 yards per game over his last four contests. That's FLEX-level production, and there's no reason for it not to continue with the Colts trailing often in 2022. Now Pierce draws a Tennessee team he posted 12.0 PPR points against in Week 4, so he's a starting consideration for anyone with a lineup hole.

3. Kenyan Drake (5% Rostered)

Kenyan Drake exploded in Week 6 with 119 yards (on just 10 carries) and a touchdown. Though the veteran benefited from starter JK Dobbins out due to injury, his performance showcased his ability to carry the load when needed for a Baltimore team that loves to run. Dobbins' Week 7 status is truly up in the air, meaning Drake could be slated for a larger role once again with the Ravens' backfield nursing multiple injuries. Facing a Cleveland Browns defense that's allowed the fourth-most PPR points to RBs this season, Drake may be a perfect bye or injury fill-in.

4. Jahan Dotson (36% Rostered)

Given how depth is so important at this point of the fantasy season, it's worth seeing if Jahan Dotson has fallen through the cracks and landed on the waiver wire in your league. Dotson's missed the past two weeks with a hamstring injury, which has caused his rostered percentage to drop as managers seek out more immediate help. The rookie could return in Week 7, though, making him a smart target. He was very productive to start the season, averaging 13.0 PPR points per game over the first four weeks. He quickly established himself as one of Carson Wentz's favorite scoring weapons, hauling in 4 TDs in four games and a two-point conversion. He should continue to produce if he returns in Week 7 with Terry McLaurin and Curtis Samuel drawing most of opposing defenses' attention.

5. Matt Ryan (28% Rostered)

Week 7 features two of fantasy's top quarterbacks (Josh Allen, Jalen Hurts), plus two other potential starters (Kirk Cousins, Matthew Stafford), on byes. However, QB-needy managers have the perfect target this week in Matt Ryan. He proved he's still got this past Sunday after lighting up a previously strong Jacksonville secondary to the tune of 389 yards, 3 TDs and 27.16 fantasy points. The Colts' backfield remains a major question mark with Jonathan Taylor and Deon Jackson both nursing injuries, and it's not like that part of the offense has been all that productive this season anyways. Ryan will need to air it out to keep up with the Titans in Week 7, whom he had success against in Week 5, when he posted 356 yards, 2 TDs and 17.84 fantasy points. The former MVP could help managers survive any holes they have at QB this week.
