Week 4 Monday Night Football Fantasy Picks: Start 'Em, Sit 'Em for Rams vs 49ers

Updated:

Week 4 of the NFL season includes a Monday Night Football showdown between the Los Angeles Rams and San Francisco 49ers. FanDuel Sportsbook's NFL odds show the 49ers as 1.5-point favorites in this NFC West duel.

If you need some help with your fantasy lineups, here's our start 'em, sit 'em advice for this Week 4 showdown between the Rams and 49ers.

Allen Robinson Fantasy

Start Allen Robinson, WR, Los Angeles Rams: Has Allen Robinson been a fantasy disappointment so far? Considering his status as the WR69 in PPR formats, the answer is yes. While the 49ers have a strong pass defense, most of their efforts will be focused on Cooper Kupp, opening up the door for Robinson to do some damage on the outside. The veteran WR has averaged five targets over his last two games, so the volume to be a WR3/FLEX option is still there, he just needs to convert. The good news is that Denver Broncos WR Courtland Sutton finished with 17.7 fantasy points (WR17) while lining up on the outside against the Rams last week, so the opportunity for Robinson to do the same is there in a competitive divisional game.

Brandon Aiyuk Fantasy

Start Brandon Aiyuk, WR, San Francisco 49ers: Brandon Aiyuk enters Week 4 with some solid momentum, scoring his first touchdown of the season last week while finishing with 12.9 PPR points (WR39). He now has a terrific opportunity to build upon that success against the Rams, who have given up the second-most points to wideouts this season. Los Angeles is tied for allowing the most receptions (56) and second-most TDs (five) to WRs, which bodes well for Aiyuk's fantasy relevance. The former Arizona State product torched Los Angeles for 107 receiving yards on six catches in the last regular-season meeting, solidifying his needing to be in most lineups this week.

Darrell Henderson Fantasy

Sit Darrell Henderson, RB, Los Angeles Rams: Back in Week 1, it looked like Darrell Henderson was going to steal the lead rushing job from Cam Akers. Instead, Henderson's snap count (82% to 56% to 50%) and carries (13 to 10 to 4) have both dropped since then as Akers has earned a bigger role. Even if Henderson was still leading the backfield, the Rams are the second-toughest defense against running backs this fantasy season. Henderson isn't even a good FLEX option and should be left on the bench.

Jimmy Garoppolo Fantasy

Sit Jimmy Garoppolo, QB, San Francisco 49ers: Jimmy Garoppolo made his first start of the season last week in what was a largely forgettable fantasy performance. The veteran quarterback only tallied 9.44 points for a QB28 finish and was also sacked four times while throwing out an interception. The Rams haven't been great against QBs this season, however, Garoppolo only averaged slightly more than 15 points in his two meetings against his rival in 2021. While that average is decent for a streaming option, the Rams do have seven sacks and four interceptions this season, meaning this won't be an easy matchup for a signal-caller who missed all of training camp.
