Week 3 Fantasy Picks: Start 'Em, Sit 'Em for Eagles vs Commanders

The Philadelphia Eagles will look to remain one of the few undefeated teams in the NFL when they travel to take on the Washington Commanders in Week 3. FanDuel Sportsbook's NFL odds list the Eagles as 6.5-point road favorites in a game that is will surely have big fantasy implications.
If you need some help with your fantasy lineups, here's our start 'em, sit 'em advice for this Week 3 NFC East showdown.
Miles Sanders Fantasy
Start Miles Sanders, RB, Philadelphia Eagles: The Eagles got out to a lead before halftime in each of their first two games and kept that lead throughout the second half. That has allowed running back Miles Sanders to see a healthy workload and develop a reliable rhythm. Through two games, the Penn State product is averaging a career-best 5.9 yards per carry and has seen a team-high 35 touches. Washington is giving up the fifth-most PPR fantasy point to opposing RBs and has posted the second-worst rush defense DVOA rating in the NFL.
Curtis Samuel Fantasy
Start Curtis Samuel, WR, Washington Commanders: It's time for fantasy managers to start taking Curtis Samuel seriously. The Washington slot receiver ranks as the WR8 in PPR-scoring fantasy football leagues through two weeks and has been quarterback Carson Wentz's top target. The Eagles have provided reliable pass coverage so far, but Samuel is not going to draw the likes of cornerback Darius Slay. He's rather going to be covered by cornerback Avonte Maddox and occasionally linebackers as well. That gives him a ton of upside and the game script is positive here. If the Commanders get down early, Samuel is going to be peppered with targets until the final whistle blows.
Dallas Goedert Fantasy
Sit Dallas Goedert, TE, Philadelphia Eagles: This is a tough one because it is hard to justify sitting any Philly player when taking into consideration how well the offense is clicking. There is one position Washington has defended well, though, and that is at tight end. The Commanders gave up 28 yards on 4 receptions to Evan Engram in Week 1 and gave up 26 yards on 3 receptions to TJ Hockenson in Week 2. Keep in mind Dallas Goedert has only seen 1 red zone target through two weeks and his average depth of target in 2022 sits at a career-low 5.5 yards. It's going to be hard for him to live up to expectations on Sunday.
Terry McLaurin Fantasy
Sit Terry McLaurin, WR, Washington Commanders: Samuel may not draw the Slay in coverage, but outside weapon Terry McLaurin certainly will. Slay held Justin Jefferson to 48 yards on 6 receptions in Week 2 and logged a pair of interceptions. He also has experience keeping McLaurin at bay in the past. The Commanders' WR posted 112 yards on 9 receptions (12 targets) in two games against the Eagles in 2021. Holding him without a touchdown once again would greatly impact his fantasy ceiling. Philly has posted the fourth-best pass defense DVOA rating in 2022, so managers shouldn't look for a big day from McLaurin in Week 3.
