Week 17 Thursday Night Football Fantasy Picks: Start 'Em, Sit 'Em for Cowboys vs Titans (Fire Up This RB)

Updated:

Week 17 of the 2022 NFL season gets underway with a primetime matchup between the Dallas Cowboys and Tennessee Titans on Thursday Night Football. The Cowboys are jostling for playoff seeding while the Titans are fighting for a division title, so both teams have plenty to play for in this late-season tilt.

If you need some help with your fantasy lineups, here's our start 'em, sit 'em advice for this Week 17 Thursday Night Football matchup.

Hassan Haskins Fantasy

Start Hassan Haskins, RB, Tennessee Titans: With Derrick Henry (hip) listed as doubtful for Thursday's game, rookies Hassan Haskins and Julius Chestnut are expected to step up in his absence. Haskins will likely see more work than Chestnut given his edge in experience and success as Tennessee's lead kick returner. With backup QB Josh Dobbs under center as well, the Titans will likely lean heavily on their ground game here, giving Haskins enough volume to be a viable fantasy play this week.

Dallas Cowboys D/ST Fantasy

Start Dallas Cowboys D/ST: The Cowboys' defense has been hit-or-miss lately and is in a bit of a slump, but this game is a golden opportunity for them to bounce back. Henry's expected absence is a major blow to the Titans' offense, which has floundered during their current five-game losing streak. Don't expect that to change under third-string QB Joshua Dobbs, who just arrived eight days ago and isn't likely to light it up with so little time to learn a new system. Between Tennessee's limited ground attack and non-existent passing game, Dallas should have a field day.

Treylon Burks Fantasy

Sit Treylon Burks, WR, Tennessee Titans: Burks has shown some promise in his rookie season, assuming a key role as one of the Titans' top receivers and enjoying several big games. His production has completely cratered down the stretch, however, rendering him unusable in fantasy leagues. He's seen just 3 targets over his past two games combined, catching only one of them for 25 yards. The former first-rounder has scored only one touchdown all season and is unlikely to make much of an impact in Week 17 with Dobbs under center.

Michael Gallup Fantasy

Sit Michael Gallup, WR, Dallas Cowboys: Gallup has taken a backseat in the Dallas offense this year, resulting in some of the worst numbers of his career. His 31.3 yards per game, 5.9 yards per target, 10.7 yards per catch and 375 receiving yards are all career lows. He's topped 50 receiving yards and 4 receptions only once apiece in 12 games this season, so the volume just isn't there. Gallup isn't much of a red-zone threat with only 4 touchdowns, either, so his floor and ceiling are both too low to merit starting him this week.
