Week 13 Waiver Wire Pickups 2022: Fantasy Football Players You Need to Add (Mike White is Back)

The 2022 fantasy football season is rolling into its final stretch. Fantasy managers are through Week 12 and can begin thinking about locking up their spot in the playoff bracket.

Heading into Week 13, those managers competing for a championship must have their sights set on the waiver wire and finding some overlooked talents that could make a difference.

1. Zay Jones, WR, Jacksonville Jaguars (25% Rostered)

Jaguars wideout Zay Jones erupted for a WR4 performance in Week 12. The sixth-year pro hauled in a season-high 14 targets and 11 receptions for 145 yards and 27.5 PPR points. Jones has now drawn double-digit targets four times this year, including in three of his last five games. A juicy matchup against the Detroit Lions -- who allow the third-most PPR points to opposing wide receivers -- in Week 13 makes him a must-add.

2. Donovan Peoples-Jones, WR, Cleveland Browns (50% Rostered)

Donovan Peoples-Jones was quiet against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday, but the fantasy outlook for the entire Browns offense is about to take a massive leap forward in Week 13. Quarterback Deshaun Watson returns from his suspension in a savory matchup against the Houston Texans. Peoples-Jones sits firmly as the WR2 on this roster (18.5% target share) and could be in for a breakout performance against a Texans squad that ranks 27th in Football Outsiders' defensive DVOA metric.

3. Mike White, QB, New York Jets (4% Rostered)

It's hard to ignore what Mike White did in his first start of the 2022 season on Sunday. White balled out against the Chicago Bears, completing more than 75% of his passes for 315 passing yards, 3 TDs and 0 INTs. We don't know what New York will do at QB in Week 13, but White seems likely to start again given Zach Wilson's recent struggles. The Jets have an intriguing matchup against the Minnesota Vikings in Week 13, a team that allows the sixth-most fantasy points to opposing quarterbacks. White is a great option to have on your bench for bye weeks down the stretch. If he continues this run, he'll work himself into the QB1 conversation.

4. Foster Moreau, TE, Las Vegas Raiders (39% Rostered)

Foster Moreau has established himself as a legit TE1 since stepping into a full-time starting role in Darren Waller's absence. He's been steady with at least 28 receiving yards in all eight of his starts this year and has found the end zone in two of his last three games. Ahead of a potentially high-soring matchup with the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 13, Moreau could be in for a big week. The Chargers allow the 11th-most PPR points to opposing TEs.

5. JaMycal Hasty, RB, Jacksonville Jaguars (3% Rostered)

Travis Etienne Jr.'s injury wasn't as bad as initially feared, but it's unclear if this ailment will cause problems in Week 13 and beyond. Backup JaMycal Hasty stepped into the RB1 role in Etienne's absence and put together a solid RB8 performance against a formidable Baltimore Ravens run defense. Hasty left something to be desired with his 2.33 yards per carry but caught all 5 of his targets for 67 yards against the Ravens' staunch front seven. The Lions have a porous defense and Hasty will be in for a big day if Etienne is unable to suit up in Week 13.
