The 2022 fantasy football season is rolling into its final stretch. Fantasy managers are through Week 11 and can begin paying close attention to projected playoff pictures and standings.

Heading into Week 12, those managers competing for a championship must have their sights set on the waiver wire and finding some overlooked talents that could make the difference.

If you need help sorting through the events of the weekend, The Duel has you covered. Here are the top waiver wire pickups heading into Week 12 of the 2022 season.

Week 12 Waiver Wire Pickups

Note: Only players rostered in fewer than 50% of Yahoo! fantasy football leagues are eligible for this list.

1. Latavius Murray, RB, Denver Broncos (23% Rostered)

The Denver Broncos announced a major shakeup to their running back room with the release of Melvin Gordon. On the heels of Latavius Murray's largest workload with the Broncos, he's a must-add this week. Murray rushed 17 times for 49 yards but notched 1 TD and another 4 receptions. He approaches solid RB2 status with this roster shakeup.

2. Darius Slayton, WR, New York Giants (51% Rostered)

Despite all of the questions around the Giants' receiving corps, we're finally beginning to get a clear picture. Darius Slayton is the WR1 on this depth chart, evidenced by his team-leading 38 targets (despite just 5 starts). Now, Wan'Dale Robinson (his main competition to WR1 status) is out for the year with a torn ACL. Slayton has finished as a top-24 WR in four of his last six games and just saw his biggest workload of the season (10 targets for 86 yards).

3. Samaje Perine, RB, Cincinnati Bengals (8% Rostered)

Running back Joe Mixon left Week 11's contest against the Steelers early and will be evaluated for a concussion. This gave backup Samaje Perine an opportunity to shine and he did just that. He finished as RB2 thanks to 30 rushing yards, 4 receptions, 52 receiving yards and 3 TDs. If Mixon is unable to go in Week 12, you'll want to have Perine in your starting lineup.

4. Cam Akers, RB, Los Angeles Rams (27% Rostered)

Even despite all of the drama before the trade deadline, Cam Akers remains on the Rams' depth chart. And in Week 11, he finally gave us a taste of what fantasy experts expected from the dynamic running back. Akers didn't put up a monster performance, but rushed 14 times for 61 yards with a very capable 4.36 yards per attempt. This accounted for 46% of LA's rushing share. Akers is a good option to have on your fantasy bench should any injuries arise for the starting running backs on the roster.

5. Treylon Burks, WR, Tennessee Titans (20% Rostered)

Treylon Burks erupted for his best performance as a pro in Week 11. He caught 7-of-8 targets for 111 yards while accounting for 27% of Tennessee's target share. He has plenty of upside on this Titans' roster and the potential to steal Robert Woods' title as WR1. Look for the upside here.
