Eleven NBA matchups are slated for Monday, Jan. 2, including an inter-conference tilt at Chase Center as the Golden State Warriors (19-18) host the Atlanta Hawks (17-19).

Despite the injury bug running wild. the Warriors are currently on a four-game winning streak, picking up a 118-112 victory over the Portland Trail Blazers on Friday. Meanwhile, the Hawks have been trending in the opposite direction, falling 130-121 to the Los Angeles Lakers to mark their fourth loss in five games.

Can the Warriors remain dominant in t heir own backyard? Or will the Hawks break out of their losing ways on the road?

Warriors vs. Hawks Betting Trends

  • The Warriors have gone 17-18-1 against the spread this season.
  • The Hawks have been underdogs by 2 points or more 12 times this year and are 7-5 ATS in those contests.
  • Warriors games have gone over the total 19 times out of 33 chances this season.
  • Hawks games this season have gone over the point total 60.6% of the time (20 out of 33 games with a set point total).
  • Against the spread, Golden State has played better when playing at home, covering 13 times in 18 home games, and four times in 18 road games.
  • Atlanta has performed better against the spread on the road (6-9-0) than at home (7-11-0) this year.

Warriors vs. Hawks Prediction & Pick

The Warriors are the best team at home this season, going 16-2 straight up at Chase Center. They've won five straight home games and enter tonight's action averaging a 117.2 PPG clip, winning by an average of 9.2 points.

There's just no reason to trust the Hawks considering how their only win over the last five games came against the lowly Detroit Pistons. Atlanta has also allowed 129-plus points in two of its last three games and could be in trouble again defensively with top center Clint Capela (calf) already being ruled out from tonight's festivities.

Since 2012, the Hawks have also lost eight of their last nine road games against the Warriors. With how poorly and inconsistent Atlanta has been lately, I don't see the Hawks' reversing their fortunes tonight. The Warriors will keep doing what they do best at Chase Center and that's winning.

Final Score Prediction: Warriors: 124 | Hawks: 115

Warriors vs. Hawks Best Bet

Kevon Looney enters this game with a projected rebound total of 9.5 and I'm backing the over. The veteran center has done well in the paint lately, averaging 9.0 rebounds in his last eight games and recording 32 total boards in his last three games alone.

The lack of Capela and his 11.9 RPG will make Looney's life a lot easier, as well. After all, the Hawks already allow the 13th-most rebounds to centers this season.

Having hit the over in each of his last two games, look for another double-digit rebounding performance from Looney.

Bet: Kevon Looney — Rebounds: Over 9.5 (-132)
