Warriors vs Celtics Game 3 Info

2021-22 NBA Playoffs — NBA Finals Game 3 (Series Tied 1-1)
Golden State Warriors (53-29, 31-10 Home) vs. Boston Celtics (51-31, 23-18 Away)
Date: Wednesday, June 8, 2022
Time: 9 p.m. ET
Venue: TD Garden — Boston, MA
Coverage: ABC

The Boston Celtics blew the doors off the Warriors down the stretch in Game 1, but Golden State returned the favor in Game 2. Entering halftime with a slim two-point lead, the Warriors rode a wild 35-14 third quarter en route to a 107-88 blowout victory.

Momentum is on Golden State's side, but Boston has been incredibly resilient in the postseason, going 6-0 after a loss. Home-court advantage would appear to be another edge for Boston, but the Celtics haven't been particularly effective at home recently. Something has to give, and we'll see how it all plays out when the game tips off at 9 p.m. ET on Wednesday.

Warriors vs Celtics Odds & Spread

All NBA betting lines, odds and prop bets are available on FanDuel Sportsbook.
Moneyline: GSW: (+130) | BOS: (-154)
Spread: GSW: +3.5 (-114) | BOS: -3.5 (-108)
Total: 212.5 — Over: (-110) | Under: (-110)
Odds to Win NBA Finals: GSW: (-115) | BOS: (-105)

The bookmakers appear to think Golden State is the better team – ever so slightly. Golden State was a 4-point favorite at home in Game 2, while Boston is only a 3.5-point favorite at home in Game 3. And despite not having home court, the Warriors are slim -115 favorites over the Celtics (-105) to hoist the Larry O'Brien Trophy. Golden State has the edge, but the odds show it's anyone's series.

NBA Finals MVP Odds 2022

All NBA Finals MVP odds are available on FanDuel Sportsbook.

Stephen Curry (-120)
Jayson Tatum (+155)
Jaylen Brown (+650)
Marcus Smart (+6500)
Al Horford (+6500)
Draymond Green (+8500)
Andrew Wiggins (+11000)
Klay Thompson (+21000)
Jordan Poole (+21000)

Stephen Curry regained the lead in the odds to win the NBA Finals after back-to-back stellar performances. Barring a crazy turnaround, Curry appears to be a lock to win Finals MVP honors if Golden State wins the title.

Things aren't as cut-and-dry over in Boston. Tatum had a bad performance as a scorer in Game 1, and though he bounced back in Game 2, that ultimately came in a losing effort. Like Curry, Tatum is the favorite for Finals MVP if Boston ends up winning. But Jaylen Brown is very much within striking distance, and guys like Al Horford and Marcus Smart can get back in the race with a big showing in Game 3.

Warriors vs Celtics Prediction & Pick

All NBA win probability predictions and picks are according to ESPN's Basketball Power Index (BPI).
Prediction: Boston Celtics win (80.6%)

Readers might be surprised to see ESPN's model favoring the Celtics so heavily. But this isn't new information. Analytics models have loved the Celtics all postseason, while bookmakers have tended to favor the Warriors.

As for me, I'm rolling with the analytics in this one. Boston is the better team as long as it keeps its turnovers in check, and I think we'll see fewer bone-headed passes from Tatum and Brown in Game 3. If Boston keeps its turnovers down and forces Golden State to play half-court offense, the Celtics should cruise to a relatively easy win.

Final Score Prediction: Warriors: 98 | Celtics: 115

Warriors vs Celtics Betting Trends

- Golden State is 6-2 against the spread (ATS) in its last eight games.
- The total has hit the over in four of Golden State's last six games.
- Golden State is 1-5-1 ATS in its last seven games against Boston.
- Boston is 13-6 ATS in its last 19 games.
- The total has hit the under in four of Boston's last six games.
- Boston is 13-6 straight up in its last 19 home games.

The interesting thing here is Boston's home-court record in the postseason. The Celtics went 1-2 at home against Miami and 2-2 at home against Milwaukee. Compare that to Golden State, who were 6-0 at home in the postseason before suffering that Game 1 loss to Boston.

The home-court advantage at TD Garden is such an edge that you have to think things will turn around soon. But it's not the advantage fans have grown accustomed to.

Warriors vs Celtics Best Bet

All NBA betting lines, odds and prop bets are available on FanDuel Sportsbook.

The Celtics have been phenomenal after a loss this postseason. Boston is 6-0 following a loss and those wins have tended to come in convincing fashion. Jayson Tatum's team outscored its opponents by an average of 15.8 PPG following a loss, with four of those six wins coming by double digits.

If Boston keeps its turnovers in check, the C's have a real shot to notch another convincing win.

Bet: Alternative Spreads – Boston Celtics -9.5 (+220)
