Viliami Fehoko Scouting Report

Viliami Fehoko created nothing but chaos for opposing offenses during his time at San Jose State, a trend that continued into his final year. Fehoko was named the 2022 MWC Defensive Player of the Year after racking up 69 tackles (conference-leading 19.0 for loss), 9.0 sacks, 2 forced fumbles and a broken-up pass.

Fehoko is quick on his feet and knows how to maneuver around the edges to put pressure on quarterbacks. He also knows how to shed blockers with impressively strong hands. His aggression is another aspect of his game that stands out as he always gives it all for every play.

Fehoko's lateral movement is solid, but the speed of it isn't anything impressive. He also isn't the biggest edge rusher, so he can be overpowered by bigger offensive linemen. Improving as an anchor is also a necessity.

Viliami Fehoko NFL Draft Prediction

All five highlighted mock drafts are in agreement that Viliami Fehoko will likely be a Day 3 selection. He's a talented defender who knows how to up the pressure with his bull rush talents, but his size is the main thing holding him back from being an earlier pick.

The San Francisco 49ers should consider drafting Fehoko after letting the injury-plagued Dee Ford hit free agency. The San Jose State product's pass-rush abilities will be welcome by a 49ers team that ranked in the bottom half of the league when it came to sacks (No. 27) and hurries (No. 21) last season.

Fehoko won't take the league by storm in Year 1, but he's more than capable of coming in and out of the rotation when needed. He'd be a reliable name in San Francisco for years to come.

Prediction: San Francisco 49ers (Round 5, 155th overall)
