Week 6 of the 2022 NFL season features a number of exciting matchups, including a battle between the Minnesota Vikings and Miami Dolphins. Minnesota will look to stay atop the NFC North by extending its current winning streak to four games. Meanwhile, the Dolphins will look to stop a two-game skid that has been centered around injuries at the quarterback position.

Vikings vs Dolphins Odds

According to FanDuel Sportsbook's NFL odds, Minnesota is a -178 favorite on the moneyline (3.5-point spread) in a game with an over/under of 45.5.

Which way should fans be leaning in this cross-conference clash, and where can bettors find value?

Vikings vs Dolphins Prediction and Best Bet

The Vikings enter this game with great positive momentum. Their last three weeks have included two divisional wins and a victory over a New Orleans Saints team that posted a winning record last year. The success during that span can be credited to an offense that is averaging 28.3 points per game.

Minnesota has the talent to beat an opponent both through the air and on the ground, so new head coach Kevin O'Connell is taking full advantage of that. Dalvin Cook has rushed for over 90 yards three times this season, while wide receiver Justin Jefferson has logged over 140 yards three times as well.

That does not bode well for the Dolphins' defense given it is allowing 386.8 yards per game and 6.1 yards per play in 2022. Both of those marks rank among the 10 worst in the NFL. It's hard to imagine QB Teddy Bridgewater or Skylar Thompson being able to keep up in what could become a shootout.

The Vikings are 4-2 against the spread (ATS) in their last six games against Miami and I will trust that trend to continue by backing Minnesota -3.5. As for the point total, betting on over 45.5 points to be scored lines up as the better option. Keep in mind the over has hit in 10 of Minnesota's last 13 games.
