Vikings Get Amazing Update on Lewis Cine After Recent Surgery

Updated:

Minnesota Vikings rookie safety Lewis Cine went down with a brutal injury during his team's Week 4 win over the New Orleans Saints in London. The result was devastating for such a promising talent, as Cine ended up with a lower leg fracture that required surgery.

Although he's likely out for the majority (if not the rest) of the 2022 season, the Vikings received positive news on the young defender following Week 5.

Lewis Cine Injury Update

Cine stayed in London for emergency surgery to repair his leg fracture, but the surgery was successful. As Vikings insider Kevin Seifert reported, Cine returned to the team's training facility in Eagan, MN on Monday.

Head coach Kevin O'Connell chimed in on the situation, saying "it was awesome to see him" as Cine begins a potentially lengthy rehab process.

Either way, it's great to see Cine back home and in the building after such a gruesome injury. Minnesota has stressed from the very beginning that the focus is "prioritizing his wellbeing – both physical and emotional," per a release from the team website.
