With Darren Waller becoming the latest NFL player to try his hand at a music career, it's easy to get lost in thought about all of the athletes who have done that, with varying degrees of success. For every "Dame Dolla" there's a Shaq. For every Roy Jones Jr. there's a Kobe Bryant.

This isn't a new phenomenon either. Then New Orleans Saints punter Brian Hansen and kicker Morten Andersen formed a musical duo in the 1980s.

Of course, I probably didn't need to tell you this was from the '80s — the sound of the song and the ridiculous cover photo are a dead giveaway.

Nobody is going to accuse "Brian and Morten" of being terrific singers, but hidden by layers of heavy synth, they actually managed to put together a pretty catchy song.

When athletes undertake off-field ventures, they'll occasionally get criticism for not being focused enough on their game. This venture seemed to be a boon for Andersen's play, though. This song came out in 1985, and then Andersen was a first-team All-Pro in both 1986 and 1987.

Maybe it's time for Thomas Morestead and Wil Lutz to re-create the magic with a song of their own.
