Baseball brawls are not the most common when it comes to athletic altercations, which is usually part of why they're so memorable. This St. Louis Cardinals-Cincinnati Reds brawl occurred on Aug. 10, 2010. Here it is in case you missed it.

It all starts with Cardinals catcher Yadier Molina and Reds second baseman Brandon Phillips at home plate. Phillips taps his bat near Molina's shin-protector which inspires a kicking motion by Yadier. Phillips then goes back for a second tap, causing some tension as the Reds infielder walks off to take a few practice swings.

By the time he returns, Molina must be stewing with anger because the catcher actually cuts in front of Phillips in the batter's box. Benches clear, and so begins the pandemonium.

The real fight is the second one that breaks out behind home plate later on. Many believe Jason LaRue's career was actually ended during the skirmish, by a Johnny Cueto kick.

There's a lot to breakdown here, and this dispute goes back a lot further than August 10th. These ball clubs are bitter rivals, and Phillips and Molina were known to be fiery characters throughout their careers. Whatever words were exchanged between the two, there was history behind them, and history lives on forever.
