VIDEO: Remembering When Pat McAfee Recovered His Own Onside Kick Against the Texans in 2014

Punters rarely make a name for themselves in the NFL, but Pat McAfee has always seemed to be the exception. The former Indianapolis Colts punter, now turned media personality had a way of pulling off unexpected things, like when he laid out a kick returner as the last line of defense.

This is just another example of McAfee doing his thing. After the Colts opened up the Thursday Night Football game against the Houston Texans with a field goal, they were set to kick off. However, the way the Texans were set up created an opportunity for the Colts, and McAfee executed the play perfectly.

The Texans looked dumbfounded. No one on the special teams unit was even close to recovering the onside kick. For the kicker to be able to run 10 yards and recover his own onside kick with ease shows just how unprepared the team was, and McAfee yet again, took advantage.
