VCU has looked terrific during its three-game winning streak as its gotten solid play on both sides of the ball. The Rams have averaged 74.3 points over the last three games — which includes tallying 80-plus in the last two games — while only allowing a 59.3 PPG clip.

While Richmond has found occasional success lately, it's also lost five consecutive road games. The Spiders' defense has surrendered 83.4 PPG over that stretch, playing a huge role in their minus-10.2 scoring margin in those contests.

I don't expect Richmond's road luck to change considering that has lost four straight trips to Stuart C. Siegel Center by an average of 18 points. VCU is the clear-cut better team and will reinforce that claim tonight.

Richmond's inability to keep things close has led to my going with VCU on the spread as the best bet. Not only are the Spiders 2-9 ATS in their last 11 games, but they've failed to cover in eight of their last 10 A-10 matchups.

Meanwhile, the Rams are 9-4 ATS in their last 13 outings, as well as 4-1-1 ATS in their last six home games on a Friday. After also covering in four of its last five clashes with Richmond, I fully expect VCU to win tonight by a sizeable margin.
