Vanderbilt is projected as the worst team in the SEC, but the Commodores' offense has played well and scored more than expected through four games. Vandy has scored 63, 42, 25 and 38 points while winning three times.

Freshman quarterback A.J. Swann earned his first career start for Vandy last week and made the most of it. He earned SEC Freshman of the Week honors after passing for 255 yards and 4 TDs in a 38-28 win over Northern Illinois.

The passing game has been much more efficient than expected, and the Commodores' offensive line is doing a great job of keeping defenses out of the backfield. Vanderbilt hopes to get RB Rocko Griffin back, but he remains questionable vs Alabama and has not played since the opening win over Hawaii.

Alabama crushed UL Monroe last week, 63-7, after the close call vs Texas. Vanderbilt's power rating is more than 10 points higher than ULM's, however, and 'Bama was laying -49.5 to ULM. The Commodores can move the ball better, but scoring will still be tough against the Crimson Tide's defense.
