The 2022 NFL Draft showcases deep talent at the cornerback position, headlined by a pair of standout juniors: Cincinnati's Ahmad Garnder and LSU's Derek Stingley Jr. As the duo jockeys for the honor of being the first cornerback selected in April, teams around the league in need of secondary help will prepare for a decision that could alter the future of their franchise.

The Baltimore Ravens are one of those teams in need of CB help, and a pair of insane stats prove why Gardner may be the best fit at No. 14.

Ravens Mock Draft

Not only was Gardner named a consensus All-American during the fall, but he pulled out a pair of insane stats in the process. Throughout three years and 33 games in college, "Sauce" Gardner did not allow a single TD catch in coverage. That's pretty mind-blowing, especially considering the Ravens allowed the third-most passing TDs (31) in the NFL last season... in 17 games.

Gardner is clearly a lockdown option at cornerback, he also didn't allow a single receiver to post more than 13 yards against him in a game this season. Baltimore surrendered a league-worst 4,742 passing yards or 278.9 yards per game this season.

The Ravens' need for cornerback help has never been more obvious, and veteran Jimmy Smith may depart in free agency. It's a clear need, and these two stats are further proof that Gardner has to be the top corner off the board come April.
