The Baltimore Ravens have needed a true No. 1 wide receiver for what feels like forever now. The Hollywood Brown experiment seemed short-lived before trading him to the Arizona Cardinals. Rashod Bateman was drafted to be that, but injuries have hampered the start of his career.
Now, Baltimore might be looking to acquire someone from the Cardinals instead of sending someone away to them.
DeAndre Hopkins Ravens Rumors
ESPN's Jeremy Fowler spoke to NFL executives around the league and asked them for some potential offseason predictions. One of them included the Ravens trading for wideout DeAndre Hopkins.
The sources also predicted the New England Patriots would be in the mix, as both teams are in dire need of a star wideout.
Hopkins will be 31 by the time next season kicks off, which is certainly on the older side for wide receivers, but the veteran proved last season he's still got plenty left in the tank.
After serving a six-game suspension to start the season, Hopkins came back on fire, hauling in two touchdowns in his first three games and going over the 100-yard mark twice in that same span. Despite only suiting up for nine games in 2022, Hopkins had 64 catches and 717 receiving yards.
Hopkins can most likely be had for less than a first-round pick at this stage in his career, especially if Arizona doesn't eat much of his contract. The Ravens could and should jump on that chance to give Lamar Jackson a true No. 1 proven wideout, even if he is on the back end of his career.
