Top Fantasy Football Streaming Tight Ends for Week 6

Top Fantasy Football Streaming Tight Ends for Week 6

Updated:

Week 5 was chaotic as usual at the tight end position. A few top names produced, but several widely available players cracked the top 10 in fantasy scoring as well.

If you're in need of TE help, here's our top three streaming tight end picks (rostered in fewer than 50% of Yahoo! leagues) to target on the waiver wire.

3. Hayden Hurst (31%)

Hayden Hurst boomed in Week 5, popping off for a season-high 6 receptions, 53 yards and 17.3 PPR points. He took on a larger role in this offense with Tee Higgins hampered by ankle injury, and it remains to be seen if the top wideout is healthy enough to suit up this coming Sunday. Regardless, Hurst will remain a key piece of a pass-happy offense. He's commanded at least 7 targets in three of five games so far, and he's hauled in at least 5 receptions in each of those contests. That kind of volume gives him a safe floor, and his touchdown upside (two scores in the past two weeks) adds to his appeal as an ideal streaming choice.

2. Taysom Hill (31%)

Taysom Hill continues to make plays for the New Orleans Saints. He was the talk of fantasy football this past weekend after recording four total touchdowns (three rushing, one passing) and ranking as the fourth-highest PPR scorer overall. It's hard to see him putting up 20-plus points every week, but it's clear the Saints will continue to use him in valuable situations. Hill is one of New Orleans' top weapons right now with the receiving corps banged up and Andy Dalton failing to light it up in place of Jameis Winston, so he'll be leaned upon to move the sticks in any way possible. In terms of upside plays, Hill is at the top of the list.

1. Irv Smith Jr. (49%)

Irv Smith Jr. just barely qualifies for this list thanks to his high roster percentage, and he could graduate with a big game in Week 6. He's averaging a solid 5.8 targets over the last four contests, showing he's still been able to carve out a role despite the Minnesota Vikings' wealth of receiving options. Though he's only gone over 10 PPR points once so far, this Sunday gives him a delicious matchup. The Miami Dolphins have given up the fifth-most passing yards per game and eighth-most PPR points to TEs this season. If there's a week for Smith to really feast, it's this one.
