Top Fantasy Football Streaming Tight Ends for Week 3

Updated:

Crashing the waiver wire to find those diamonds in the rough early in the season is a perfect way to build a balanced fantasy football roster for Week 3 and beyond. With how shallow the tight end position can be, adding players that showed up for their squads and have future upside is the best way to go.

With that being said, here's a look at three of the top streaming tight ends rostered in fewer than 50% of Yahoo! fantasy leagues to target in Week 3.

Fantasy Football Tight Ends

1. Logan Thomas, WAS (15% Rostered)

Logan Thomas caught fantasy managers' attention when he hauled in his first TD of the season in Week 2. He's more than just a red zone threat, however, and deserves consideration as a borderline top-12 fantasy option at the position. Thomas' 11 targets are just one fewer than Antonio Gibson and Terry McLaurin, both of whom are tied for second on the team. His 10.8% target share leaves a little to be desired, but the lengthy tight end will command Carson Wentz's attention in the red zone. Playing against a Philadelphia Eagles squad that's allowed the seventh-most PPR points to opposing TEs only sweetens this deal this week.

2. Irv Smith Jr., MIN (41% Rostered)

Irv Smith Jr.'s fantasy value boomed after his Week 2 usage, as he ranked second to only Justin Jefferson in targets. He caught 5-of-8 looks for 36 yards and Minnesota's lone touchdown. Smith's usage is trending in the right direction ahead of a potential shootout with the Detroit Lions in Week 3. Detroit's given up the 11th-most PPR points to opposing TEs and the third-most to opposing QBs. Kirk Cousins and his offense will hum against a Lions defense that also ranks 30th in red zone defense.

3. Tyler Conklin, NYJ (3% Rostered)

Tyler Conklin is currently operating as Joe Flacco's preferred target outside of wide receiver Garrett Wilson. He ranks second on the team with 16 targets and third with 10 receptions. Not only has Conklin tallied back-to-back performances with at least 7 targets and 4 receptions, but he also holds a solid 15.5% of the Jets' target share. An enticing matchup against the Cincinnati Bengals looms in Week 3. Cincinnati has allowed touchdowns on 75% of their opponents' red zone trips, ranking a dreadful 25th across the NFL.
