Top Fantasy Football Streaming Tight Ends for Week 12 (Juwan Johnson's Upside Keeps Growing)

Updated:

Fantasy football managers saw Kyle Pitts join a group of injured tight ends that includes the likes of Dallas Goedert, Darren Waller and Zach Ertz in Week 11. With the playoffs right around the corner, finding the right replacement on the waiver wire will be a crucial move prior to kickoff on Sunday.

If you're in need of TE help, here are our top three streaming tight end picks (rostered in fewer than 50% of Yahoo! leagues) to target on the waiver wire.

Streaming TE Fantasy Football Week 12

3. Logan Thomas, Washington Commanders (vs ATL)

Age and injuries have ultimately kept Logan Thomas from recreating his weekly fantasy success from the last few seasons. He certainly looked like his old self in Week 11, though, hauling in 5 of his 6 targets for 65 yards and making several tough catches. The seventh-year pro served as quarterback Taylor Heinicke's safety blanket, which gives him underrated upside in Week 12. Thomas faces an Atlanta Falcons defense on Sunday that is giving up the eighth-most PPR fantasy points to opposing TEs. In fact, the Falcons are tied for the second-most receptions allowed to the TE position in the NFL this season (62). Managers stuck in a pinch can feel comfortable adding Thomas as a fill-in option this week.

2. Trey McBride, Arizona Cardinals (vs LAC)

Trey McBride finds himself as a viable streaming option against the Los Angeles Chargers this week. McBride has fully taken over the Arizona Cardinals' starting TE gig since Ertz went down, playing in 91% of the offensive snaps in Week 10 and 76% of the offensive snaps in Week 11. It hasn't resulted in much production yet, but the Cardinals are expected to get quarterback Kyler Murray back in Week 12. That would obviously boost McBride's upside against a Chargers defense that is allowing the sixth-most PPR fantasy points to opposing TEs. The possibility of this game turning into a shootout only heightens McBride's ceiling.

1. Juwan Johnson, New Orleans Saints (@ SF)

This recommendation is simple. Juwan Johnson ranks as the fourth-highest-scoring tight end in fantasy football since Week 7. The New Orleans Saints standout has racked up 179 yards and an impressive 5 touchdowns on 17 receptions during that span. Johnson has developed into quarterback Andy Dalton's favorite red zone target and touchdown upside is what fantasy managers should be searching for in a streaming TE. Even with a tough matchup looming against the San Francisco 49ers, he still has a shot to post 40+ yards and score a touchdown for the fourth week in a row.
