Week 8 of the NFL season featured several strong defensive performances from unexpected teams such as the New Orleans Saints, Seattle Seahawks and Cleveland Browns. Week 9 presents plenty more matchups to exploit for managers who opt to stream this position.

If you're one of those managers, The Duel is here to help with three of our top fantasy football streaming defenses for Week 9.

Week 9 Streaming Fantasy Football Defenses

3. Minnesota Vikings (@ WAS)

The Commanders have regained some momentum with quarterback Taylor Heinicke leading them to back-to-back wins. However, Washington has not scored more than 23 points since Week 2 and average only 331.0 yards of offense per game (No. 22 in NFL). Welcoming the Vikings to town doesn't inspire much hope for those marks to change. Over its last two games, Minnesota has tallied 10.0 sacks, 4 interceptions and 2 fumble recoveries. They are forcing turnovers left and right and now face a Commanders offense that has thrown 8 interceptions in eight games. Expect defensive coordinator Ed Donatell's unit to put together third straight dominant performance to help the Vikings get to 7-1.

2. Cincinnati Bengals (vs CAR)

Six teams are on bye this week, which means fantasy managers can't get too picky about their streaming defense options. Even though the Panthers came out of nowhere to put up 34 points in Week 8, they remain one of the worst offenses in the NFL. Carolina is averaging just 5.3 yards per play (T-No. 19 in NFL) and have posted the worst third-down conversion percentage in the league (26.8%). A Bengals team that has logged at least 1 sack in every game this season should have no trouble bringing quarterback PJ Walker back down to earth. After all, Cincinnati is only allowing 5.4 yards per play (No. 10 in NFL).

1. Kansas City Chiefs (vs TEN)

The Chiefs enter this game rested and ready to go. Kansas City put together its best defensive performance of the season in Week 7, racking up 5.0 sacks, 2 interceptions and 1 fumble recovery against the San Francisco 49ers. It then endured its bye week and now welcome the Titans to Arrowhead Stadium. Tennessee may be forced to start rookie quarterback Malik Willis, which means it would be the Derrick Henry show again. However, the Chiefs are allowing only 4.2 yards per carry (No. 7 in NFL) and held Henry to 86 yards on 29 carries (3.0-yard average) during their last game against him. Kansas City's defense should feast as the Titans attempt to play catch-up on Sunday night.
