Top Fantasy Football Streaming Defenses for Week 5

Updated:

Week 4 of the NFL season featured several defenses putting up double-digit points in fantasy football thanks to weak opponents and turnover-filled performances. Week 5 presents plenty more matchups to exploit for managers who opt to stream this position.

If you're one of those managers, The Duel is here to help with three of our top fantasy football streaming defenses for Week 5.

Week 5 Streaming Fantasy Football Defenses

3. Tennessee Titans (@ WAS)

The Titans' defense is the epitome of a boom-or-bust option in fantasy football. It has posted 8 or more points twice this season, but has also posted 2 or less points twice. It's all about the matchup here. Washington ranks among the bottom 10 NFL teams in statistical categories such as yards per game, points per game and turnovers. That bodes well for a Titans group fresh off a performance that featured 3 sacks, 2 fumble recoveries and 1 interception. Keep in mind the Commanders have also allowed the most sacks of any team in the league (17). Look for quarterback Carson Wentz to feel constant pressure from this veteran defensive line.

2. Miami Dolphins (@ NYJ)

The NFL schedule has not been kind to the Dolphins' defense this season. Facing the Baltimore Ravens, Buffalo Bills and Cincinnati Bengals back-to-back-to-back resulted in poor fantasy scoring outputs. They draw the perfect matchup for a bounce back game on Sunday, though. The Jets rank second in the NFL with 9 giveaways on the season and have already given up 10 sacks across four games. Not only that, but New York has been held to under 14 points twice this season. This Jets offense can go stagnant at any moment and Miami enters this game with a few extra days of rest after playing on Thursday Night Football. Pick up the Dolphins before someone else does.

1. Jacksonville Jaguars (vs HOU)

It would be irresponsible for fantasy managers to dismiss this Jaguars' defense as anything but a reliable fantasy option in 2022. Jacksonville ranks as the fourth-highest scoring defense on the season and scored 9 points in Week 4 despite facing the only undefeated team left in the NFL (Philadelphia Eagles). The Jaguars rank second in the NFL with 9 takeaways and took an interception to the house last week. They are at the top of their game right now and get to face a lowly Texans' offense in Week 5. Houston averages only 302.0 yards (No. 27 in NFL) and 18.3 points (No. 25 in NFL) per game. It is well worth using waiver claim on Jacksonville this week.
