Top Fantasy Football Streaming Defenses for Week 13 (Packers Tame Slumping Bears)

Updated:

Week 12 of the NFL season featured several impressive defensive performances from teams like the San Francisco 49ers, Kansas City Chiefs, New York Jets and Carolina Panthers. Week 13 presents plenty more matchups to exploit for managers who opt to stream this position.

If you're in need of a defense to play this week, here are our top three streaming defense picks (rostered in fewer than 50% of Yahoo! leagues) to target on the waiver wire.

Week 13 Streaming Fantasy Football Defenses

3. New York Giants (vs Washington Commanders)

The New York Giants defense has been a strength for much of the year but has begun to slip lately, surrendering 59 points over its last two games combined. Look for this unit to bounce back at home on extra rest in Week 13 after playing on Thanksgiving. The Giants have a plus matchup against a Washington Commanders team that ranks bottom 10 in both points per game and yards per game. Divisional games also tend to be lower-scoring, positioning New York for a solid showing here.

2. Cleveland Browns (@ HOU)

The Cleveland Browns' defense is a bit of an afterthought this week with Deshaun Watson returning from suspension to face his old team, but this is a great matchup for Cleveland on both sides of the ball. The Houston Texans are 1-9-1 this year and have arguably the worst offense in the NFL, ranking 31st in points per game and 32nd in yards per game. Houston's scored fewer than 20 points in five straight games, while Cleveland just held Tom Brady's Tampa Bay Buccaneers to 17 points in a game that went to overtime. The Browns haven't been great on defense this year, but this is an ideal spot for them.

1. Green Bay Packers (@ CHI)

The Green Bay Packers just got torched by the Philadelphia Eagles for 40 points on Sunday Night Football, but this is a perfect get-right game for them. The Chicago Bears are coming off a 10-point performance against the New York Jets and managed only 10 points against the Packers back in Week 2. Chicago ranks in the bottom half of the league in both scoring and yardage, putting Green Bay's unit in a good spot to wreak some havoc at Soldier Field this weekend.
