Top 12 Fantasy Football Defense Rankings for Week 13 (Ride Seahawks in Outstanding Matchup)

Updated:

Defenses are usually just an afterthought in fantasy football. That's leaving points on the board though. Savvy fantasy managers will be scouring the waiver wire to capitalize on the best defensive matchups each and every week, especially with several teams on bye this week.

With that in mind, here are the top 12 fantasy football defenses for Week 13 of the 2022 NFL season.

Fantasy Football Defense Rankings Week 13

12. Pittsburgh Steelers (at ATL)

11. San Francisco 49ers (vs MIA)

10. Cleveland Browns (at HOU)

9. Green Bay Packers (at CHI)

8. Washington Commanders (at NYG)

Washington's defense has turned it around after a slow start, ranking 10th in fewest points allowed per game (19.7) and giving up the eighth-fewest yards. The Commanders have not allowed more than 21 points in a game since Week 4, yielding just 16.1 points per game over their last eight contests and only 23 points over their last two games combined. This surging unit gets an inviting matchup in Week 13 against the Giants, who rank 22nd in points per game and 20th in yards per game. New York also has a one-dimensional offense that is heavily reliant on the run, setting up Washington's elite run-stopping group (eighth-fewest rushing yards per game allowed) for success on Sunday.

7. Philadelphia Eagles (vs TEN)

6. Minnesota Vikings (vs NYJ)

5. Seattle Seahawks (at LAR)

The Seahawks would normally be a defense to avoid given that they're allowing the fifth-most points per game and third-most yards per game in the NFL, but this matchup against the depleted Rams is too good to pass up. LA's offense has been a trainwreck this year, ranking 29th in points per game and 31st in yards per game. The Rams are averaging a paltry 14.6 points per game over their last eight contests and might be without Matthew Stafford under center for the second week in a row, putting Bryce Perkins in line for another start. With Cooper Kupp on the IR, Los Angeles is extremely shorthanded on offense right now and needs to be targeted as long as Stafford's out.

4. Baltimore Ravens (vs DEN)

The Ravens surprisingly surrendered 28 points to the Jaguars in Jacksonville in Week 12 but gets a much friendlier home matchup against the Denver Broncos in Week 13. The Broncos have shown no signs of breaking out of their offensive rut, ranking dead last in scoring (14.3 points per game) while averaging the seventh-fewest yards per game. Denver has scored more than 16 points just twice all year, making this a very safe spot for Baltimore. Look for the Ravens to bounce back after giving up just 16 points in Week 9 and Week 11 combined.

3. Tampa Bay Buccaneers (vs NO)

2. Dallas Cowboys (vs IND)

1. Buffalo Bills (at NE)
