Week 5 of the 2022 NFL season includes a showdown between the Tennessee Titans and Washington Commanders. The Titans have seemingly left their 0-2 start in the past, winning two games in a row following a 24-17 victory over the rival Indianapolis Colts.

Meanwhile, the Commanders continue to sink further and further with a 25-10 loss to the Dallas Cowboys. It was an all-around forgettable performance for Washington, going 5-of-15 on third-down conversions, recording two turnovers and amassing 136 penalty yards on 11 calls.

Updated (Sunday, Oct. 9, 9:45 a.m. EST): The Titans enter this contest as small road favorites on the moneyline and spread on FanDuel Sportsbook's updated odds, although the spread has shifted a point in the Commanders' favor. This 1 p.m. ET clash also features a total of 42.5, which is up a point but still average compared to the projected Week 5 totals.

Titans vs Commanders Prediction & Pick

If the Commanders continue to play as they have, the Titans shouldn't break much of a sweat. Washington currently owns the fourth-worst scoring defense in the league and although Tennessee is sixth-worst, most of the damage against the latter came from a 41-point effort by the Buffalo Bills in Week 2.

The Commanders aren't even close to the Bills' level, scoring a mere 18 points over the last two weeks. Throw in the fact that Washington is also tied for sixth-most turnovers (seven) while its defense can't stop a nosebleed and it's easy to like the Titans' odds of winning here.

Unless they forgot how to play football over the next week, back the Titans here.

Final Score Prediction: Titans: 24 | Commanders: 13

Titans vs Commanders Betting Trends

- Tennessee is 7-3 against the spread (ATS) in its last 10 games against Washington.
- Washington is 0-5 straight up in its last five games played in October.
- The total has hit the under in seven of Tennessee's last 10 games.
- The total has hit the under in six of Washington's last seven home games.

Titans vs Commanders Best Bet

While their offense struggled to begin the year, the Titans are starting to find their groove, scoring exactly 24 points in each of their last two games. The Commanders' defense is good enough to stop the Derrick Henry-led charge, nor is their offense good enough to keep pace over the full 60 minutes.

At the end of the day, the Titans shouldn't have an issue covering the 2.5-point spread.

Bet: Titans -1.5 (-106)
