The 2022-23 NBA season continues on Wednesday with 13 more games, including a battle between the San Antonio Spurs and Oklahoma City Thunder. The Spurs have now lost eight straight games after falling to the Los Angeles Lakers, 143-138, on Saturday. Keldon Johnson dropped 26 points.

Meanwhile, the Thunder fell short against the New Orleans Pelicans in a 105-101 loss their last time out. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander tallied a team-high 31 points, while Jeremiah Robinson-Earl posted a double-double (10 points & 13 rebounds). Oklahoma City shot just 37.0% from the floor, though.

Thunder vs. Spurs Betting Trends

  • The Thunder put together a 47-31-4 record against the spread last season.
  • As 6-point underdogs or more, the Spurs went 20-8 against the spread last year.
  • Last season, 40 Thunder games hit the over.
  • There were 39 Spurs games (out of 82) that went over the total last season.

Thunder vs. Spurs Prediction & Pick

The Thunder and Spurs have been playing some of the worst basketball in the NBA over the last few weeks. San Antonio has posted the worst net rating during its eight-game losing streak. On the other side, Oklahoma City checks in with the third-worst net rating and a 2-6 record during that same span.

One team has to emerge victorious on Wednesday, though, and I'll give the edge to the home team. The Thunder average 119.0 points per home game this season, which ranks as the sixth-highest mark in the league. The Spurs are putting up only 109.5 points per away game (No. 21 in NBA).

The Spurs are also 4-9 straight up in their last 13 games at the Paycom Center, so I'll take the Thunder.

Final Score Prediction: Thunder: 121 | Spurs: 114

Thunder vs. Spurs Best Bet

Sticking to the spread is the best bet to make as both of these teams have shown a bad shooting night can come at any time. This has been a horrendous stretch for San Antonio. Not only have the Spurs lost eight in a row, but they are just 1-7 against the spread (ATS) in those contests as well.

While it's hard to trust the Thunder, they at least head into this game healthy. The Spurs could be without Josh Richardson or Jeremy Sochan as each player deals with an injury. Back Gilgeous-Alexander's squad as he is the best player in this matchup (31.1 points & 6.0 assists per game).

Bet: Oklahoma City Thunder ML (-156)
