Three Orioles Players Officially Listed as Free Agents

Updated:

The 2022 MLB season has come to a conclusion, meaning front offices around the league are now going to start shifting attention to free agency. 131 players were officially declared as free agents on Sunday, including three Baltimore Orioles contributors.

Jesus Aguilar, Robinson Chirinos, Rougned Odor

Baltimore's list includes three position players in Jesus Aguilar, Robinson Chirinos and Rougned Odor.

Odor played everyday second base for the Orioles throughout the season, although he struggled in comparison to his counterpart Ramon Urias. Odor slashed just .207/.275/.357 this season, but played the role he was supposed to. Adding a veteran presence with some pop in his bat to the young lineup.

Chirinos played an everyday role at catcher before Adley Rutschman burst onto the scene in May. The 38-year-old veteran still played in 67 games and collected 22 RBIs. Aguilar played a very limited role after playing in just 16 games.

The theme of the Orioles season relied on the emergence of their youth. After years of losing records, Baltimore finally has the pieces of a talented young core in place. Adding a few veteran free agents (that pan out better than Odor and Aguilar) could help snap a six-year playoff drought.
