Week 10 of the 2022 NCAA college football season includes a Big 12 showdown between the Texas Tech Red Raiders and No. 7 TCU Horned Frogs. After a solid 3-1 start to the season, Texas Tech has lost three of its last four games, including last week's 45-17 defeat at the hands of Baylor.

On the other hand, TCU has yet to experience a loss this fall. The Horned Frogs enter this game fresh off a 41-31 victory over West Virginia, highlighted by quarterback Max Duggan throwing for 341 yards and a trio of touchdowns while running back Kendre Miller turned 12 carries into 120 rushing yards and a score.

TCU enters this contest as a clear home favorite on the spread. This 12 p.m. ET clash also features an over/under of 70.5, which is higher than the majority of this week's projected totals.

Texas Tech vs TCU Prediction & Pick

Texas Tech has won 32 of its 59 all-time matchups against its upcoming Big 12 rival. Having said that, the rivalry has favored TCU in recent years, resulting in the Horned Frogs winning six of their last eight meetings with the Red Raiders.

It's hard imagining a world where Texas Tech turns its fortunes around this week. The Red Raiders might be 2-3 against ranked teams this season, but they needed overtime for both of those victories. Furthermore, the two teams they beat — Houston and Texas — aren't even ranked anymore.

On the other hand, three of TCU's four wins against ranked schools have been by at least seven points. The Horned Frogs are also 4-2 straight up against the Red Raiders in the six games where only the former is ranked, further pushing things in their favor.

TCU also has the fifth-best offense in the nation while Texas Tech's defense has allowed 37-plus points in three of its last four games. Unless there's a total collapse, the Horned Frogs should be victorious here.

Final Score Prediction: Texas Tech: 23 | TCU: 41

Texas Tech and TCU combined for a whopping 83 points during last season's meeting. With the two sides averaging a combined 78.2 PPG this season, there's a good chance that this game develops into a shootout.

With neither defense look overly amazing, I'm backing the total hitting over 70.5 points.

Bet: Over 70.5 Points (-110)
