Bowl game season is an exciting time in college football. Schools across the nation will battle it out for postseason glory and a chance to end their year on a high note.

One team that's no stranger to playing in bowl games is the Texas Longhorns. Here's everything you need to know about Texas' bowl history before making its next appearance.

Texas Bowl Game History

Texas has frequented the college football postseason throughout its history. The Longhorns have played in 58 bowls all-time.

The Longhorns made their first bowl appearance in 1943 as part of the Southwest Conference. They defeated Georgia Tech 14-7 at the Cotton Bowl Classic that year.

Texas has qualified for a bowl game in all but four seasons since 1998. The Longhorns most recently had their four-bowl winning streak snapped in 2022, losing 27-20 to Washington in the Alamo Bowl.
