Week 6 of the 2022 NCAA college football season features a surprising top-25 matchup in the Big 12 when the TCU Horned Frogs visit Lawrence to tackle the undefeated Kansas Jayhawks. Early kickoff is at 12 p.m. ET on FS1, and ESPN College GameDay will be in Lawrence for the first time ever for pre-game college football coverage of the Jayhawks.

Kansas kept their dream season going last week with a 14-11 win over Iowa State as a home underdog. The Horned Frogs were also a home underdog, and TCU routed Oklahoma last week 55-24, proving once again that college football is both exciting and more difficult than expected to predict.

TCU vs Kansas Prediction & Pick

What a special season it's been for Kansas thus far. The Jayhawks are 5-0 despite being picked to finish last in the Big 12 before the season. Kansas' over/under season win total was 2.5, which they've already doubled. Now they have to find a way to score more against TCU, who is averaging 45 points per game against three FBS opponents, including 55 last week in the smackdown of the Sooners. That included 361 rushing yards and 307 passing yards by the Horned Frogs in the victory.

Kansas gained just 213 yards in their 14-11 win over Iowa State last week and are now a bigger underdog at home. To be fair, though, the Cyclones do have the best scoring defense in the Big 12.

Bettors are more impressed with TCU and the Frogs' offense. However, Kansas had scored 55, 48 and 30 points in their three previous games against FBS opponents.

Final Score Prediction: TCU: 30 | Kansas 27

TCU vs Kansas Best Bet

The Kansas defense leads the Big 12 with 15 sacks. The Jayhawks' pass protection has been terrific and QB Jalon Daniels has been sacked just twice. He's passing for just 196.6 yards per game, but with an 11:1 TD-to-INT ratio.

Second-year head coach Lance Leipold was a six-time Division 3 championship-winning coach and won two MAC titles at Buffalo before coming to Kansas. His players are overachieving, but it's not a fluke as they are well-coached and prepared.

The Jayhawks' defense will need to create turnovers and be their best again as TCU's offense is averaging 522 yards per game vs FBS opponents with a Power-5 best 275 rushing yards per game. Even so, we recommend leaning the underdog's way in this one.

Bet: Kansas +7 (-112)
