Peterson vs Alexander Prediction

While Steven Peterson is the favorite, he's looking for a bounce-back win this weekend. The UFC veteran is coming off a split-decision loss to Julian Erosa in a bout where Peterson missed weight by about four pounds. He won two straight fights before that defeat, though, leaving time to show how he responds.

On the flip side, Lucas Alexander experienced nothing but disappointment in his UFC debut. The 27-year-old Brazilian found himself submitting to Joanderson Brito just 2:02 into the first round of their brawl, resulting in MMA enthusiasts wondering if Alexander has what it takes to hang in the world's top promotion.

At the end of the day, I'm siding with Peterson winning this one. Alexander just didn't look good in his debut, getting taken down twice in less than one round. Unfortunately for him, Peterson averages 1.61 takedowns per 15 minutes and likely won't have issues getting Alexander back on the mat.

If Alexander can't defend himself, this could be another short one.

Winner: Steven Peterson

Peterson vs Alexander Best Bet

With the odds being where they are, I'm comfortable taking Peterson at -174 on the moneyline. If you're looking for better value, back Peterson by submission at +330 odds. Not only has he won eight fights by submission, but his upcoming opponent's three career losses each came from submitting.

Bet: Steven Peterson ML (-174) or Steven Peterson by Submission (+330)
